Championship news 2020

Well, another Classic has been run & won!

With some weather challenges over the first few days, (fog, rain, high winds, lightning, thunder & more rain), we finally started to get some fine weather at Phillip Island in Thursday. From then, the weather just got better & in many respects, so did the golf. Fields grew larger with many golfers thinking towards the weekend & the coming 36 hole Classic Championship.

Despite some inclement weather over some of the early days, the tournament was played in great spirit, with many golfers happy in their annual catch up with friends. The shotgun starts seemed to work in creating a more social environment at the completion of play, with larger, friendly groups enjoying the hospitality of our participating clubs.

One particular highlight was Chris Perrett’s hole in one (her first) at Woorayl. It was also great to see many friendly faces from past tournaments & we really want this aspect of the Classic to grow.

The Classic Committee remains determined to deliver a quality golfing experience at an affordable cost. However, suggestions, ideas, comments &feedback ( good, critical or otherwise), is welcome& you can contact us via the Classic website; the Classic Facebook page, or by email addresses which are shown on the website.
