The first reasonably sunny day since this year’s tournament started was enjoyed by the 160-strong field spread across morning and afternoon 4BBB Stableford competitions at Leongatha. With pleasant morning conditions improving to bright sunshine by the time the afternoon players teed off, scores for the later competition also improved.

Womens A-grade winners in the morning on countbackwere Elizabeth Hatwell&Denise Mulcahy with 39 points. B-grade winners were Colleen Touzel& NanMeagher, with 42 points.

In the men’s competition, Garry Friend & Craig Hutchinson won A-grade with 42 points. Visitors from Howlong GC, Tony Bobin& Greg West took out B-grade with a fine 45 points & locals Peter Horman& Ian Barlow captured C-grade honours with a score of 41 points.

In perfect conditions for golf, the afternoon field generally produced better scores. With just a single grade in a smaller womens field, Kaye Dumbleton& Helen McKenzie triumphed with 40 points.

In the men’s competition, Hobart visitor JJ Landman& local Grant McRitchie took A-grade honours with 44 points. Paul Govaars& Tom Traill won B-grade with the best score of the day, 47 points. C-grade was won by Kumar Sathasivam& Joe Dombi with 42 points.
